A symbol of divine creator, omnipresence. Abode Santann means all seeing eye. It is based on the idea that God is omnipresent and he sees everyone at every time. No one can escape from the view of the divine creator and He sees us all for what we are.
War horn
Symbol of Vigilance and Wariness. Akoben is a medieval horn used to sound a battle cry. The sound warns the others of impending danger so they can prepare for an attack and set up a defence to protect their territory from the enemy. The symbol of a war horn calls for vigilance, a need to be alert and cautious at all times.
The earth has weight
Symbol of providence and the divinity of Mother Earth. Asase Ye Duru can be directly translated to mean “the earth has weight”. This symbol represents the importance of the Earth in sustaining life. It depicts power, providence and divinity. It is of absolute importance that we take care of the earth to leave a safer, cleaner and sustainable environment for the coming generations.
He who does not know can know from learning
Symbol of knowledge, life-long education and continued quest for knowledge. It is never too late or too early to learn something or acquire knowledge. While schooling may end at some point of life, the quest for more knowledge should be an unending life long pursuit.
God never dies, therefore I cannot die
Symbol of God's omnipresence & the perpetual existence of man's spirit. This signifies the immortality of man's soul, believed to be a part of God. Because the soul rests with God after death, it cannot die.
Change or transform your character
Symbol of Life Transformation. This symbol combines two separate adinkra symbols, the “Morning Star” which can mean a new start to the day, placed inside the wheel, representing rotation or independent movement. When placed together, the two separate symbols form a new symbol which advocates for change and transformation in the lifestyles of people who do not otherwise lead exemplary lives.
The soul
Symbol of the Human Spirit. Sunsum. In the mythology of the Ashanti people and Akan people, the Sunsum is one’s Spirit. The Sunsum is what connects the body (honam) to the soul (Kra).
